OPENING DAY – April 30, 2016
Welcome. Another season is upon us at the Herb Garden. Come for a visit to view the art, purchase some of our unique herbs, walk our labyrinth or just relax with the kids and a picnic. (Don’t forget we have a playground.) Remember to take a look inside the Heritage Barn – a 200 year old structure built by young Irishman barely into their twenties.
As always, we will be carrying some of the harder to find herbs, including the beautiful flowering Sages, Lemon Verbena, Thai Basil and Vietnamese Coriander. Although our winter’s are long, it is best to hold off planting until the long weekend in May, at the earliest. We do guarantee our herbs, but not if they succumb to a frost.
This year, I am proud to announce that the works in the Comfrey Cottage Art Gallery have a totally local connection -artisans from the Almonte Potter’s Guild and members of the Almonte and Area Artists Association.
Please join us for our annual and delicious Mother’s Day Brunch on Sunday May 8th, catered by “the Mixing Bowl” of Stittsville. The menu is creative and delicious and details can be found on our Mother’s Day Brunch page »
Sterling silver jewellry and gorgeous “lotions and potions” are again on our minds! Jamie of “Silver Desire Jewellry Imports” and Bonnie of “Main de Mariposa”, the creator of small batches of handcrafted luxurious creams, lotions and bath treats return on Sunday June 12th from 10 AM to 4 PM.
Several of our other seasonal events are back – the three complimentary talks on 1) Planning and Planting an Herb Garden, 2) Maintaining Your Herb Garden, and 3) Harvesting and Preserving Your Herbs. The Company of Fools Comedy Shakespeare Troupe return August. Check out our Event Calendar for dates and details.
The Herb Garden continues to be a very popular spot for outdoor weddings, business meetings, showers, celebrations of life, reunions and more. We welcome any questions about the services and amenities we provide.
We look forward to your visit.
