OPENING DAY – May 4th, 2017

Our thirteenth season begins on Thursday, May 4th.  If you have never been to “the Herb Garden”, perhaps this is the season you will come for a visit.

Because there are now many shops where you can purchase herbs, over the past few years we have narrowed our focus to providing the harder to get herbs.  This includes an upright and sturdier Sweet Basil, Flowering Sages, Stevia and Lemon Verbena, among others.  We do have the “regulars” – Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme and larger, perennial Lavenders not available elsewhere.

Once again, we are hosting several of our annual events – Mother’s Day Brunch, Sterling Silver Jewelry and Body Products Sale, Complimentary Herbal Workshops and the Company of Fools Comedy Shakespeare Troupe. Dates can be found under “Upcoming Events”.

Ed Lawrence, retired head gardener to six Canadian Governors General and Prime Ministers and more than two decades as phone-in “gardening guru” for CBC Radio has kindly agreed to present a “Pruning Seminar” followed by an hour of questions and answers on Sunday, May 29th, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM in support of Lanark County Interval House [LCIH].  Wine. and beer will be available for purchase plus a chance to win a door prize.  Tickets may be purchased by calling 613.256.0228.

[LCIH is a 15 Bed Emergency Shelter where single women or women with their children who are experiencing any type of abuse can find safety and shelter. There is no cost and all women are welcome.]

We look forward to your visit.

Best wishes.
George and Gerry
