Education & Outreach

meet at the herb gardenThe Herb Garden welcomes groups of all kinds – students, seniors, educational – both formal and informal, business – including corporate retreats, “unbored room” meetings, company picnics, club meetings and more. Catering for snacks, meals or teas can be customized to the size and needs of the group. The labyrinth, display gardens and wild walk trail are interesting areas on the property for breaks from meetings.

As supporters of the Almonte General Hospital and Lanark County Interval House, the Herb Garden understands the challenges of fundraising. Thus, we offer our spaces for hosting events for a nominal fee. We would be happy to discuss your event to determine if the Herb Garden would be a good fit for your occasion.

LANARK COUNTY INTERVAL HOUSE BENEFIT AT THE HERB GARDEN

Lanark County Interval HouseChildren who live in abusive situations are detrimentally impacted alongside “Mom”.  In other words, children of abused women are negatively affected when they witness, hear, live in the aftermath of, or are aware of violence directed at their mothers.

On Saturday June 18, 2011, from 5:30 to 11:00 PM, “the Herb Garden” will host a benefit in support of Lanark County Interval House ‘Child and Outreach Program’.  This program is one of a kind in Lanark County.  It offers support exclusively for children exposed to the abuse of an important woman in their life, and gender-based violence.

The evening begins with bar service and delicious appetizers created by Savoury Pursuits Catering of Almonte.  The highlight will be the “Food and Wine Pairing” presented by Dustin Therrien of the Cheshire Cat Pub.  It will feature five local wines effectively paired with five complimenting food courses.  The pairing will take place in the gorgeous 1820′s Century Barn, charitable made available by George and Gerry of the Herb Garden.   Other activities involve unique products for sale in the Bergamot Barn, including beautiful sterling silver jewelry presented by Silver Desire, and spa products by the innovative company Undressed.  The Herb Garden’s Gourmet Gift Shop will also be donating a portion of sales as well.  To round out the evening, there will be a silent auction and a 50/50 draw.

Tickets for this worthwhile and amazing event are just $100 per person.  They can be purchased by contacting George and Gerry at the Herb Garden at 613.256.0228.  Come and enjoy this wonderful evening and contribute to a community organization that deserves our support.
